It seems that faith based marriage counselling would be a good idea, but I’m Catholic….?

Many people suggested going to a pastor for marriage counselling, but my husband and I are Catholic….the Catholic Church has priests , not pastors and ministers, do priests provide that service? My husband and I grew up as Catholics, and I went to Catholic school when I was little, but to be honest [...]

Has anyone gotten marital therapy and it worked?

I always read about therapy for marriages and how much they actually work, but these are just merely articles, soo…..has anyone actually ventured out on improving their marriage w/a counseler (you and spouse together in therapy) and it improved your relationship?
thank you
Yes, it does work! If your spouse won’t agree to go, then go alone. [...]

I want to be a child/teen therapist. What do I major in and how many years will it take to get my degree?

You would need at least a bachelor’s degree in psychology and probably a masters in clinical psychology with a focus on developmental psychology. About 6 years of college plus a clinical internship.
It would be a very rewarding career (and rewards need to be earned or they are not really rewards, are they?)
Best of Luck!

Is marriage counselling and sexual therapy the way?

My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years, and in general we are happy, but for about 3 years we have had a problem in the bedroom. I think I am highly sexual and my husband has a low sex drive, and this causes problems. We seem to argue about it most [...]

to buy: a DVD of the series ‘Help 2005′ tv series featuring Paul Whitehouse & Chris Langham.?

it’s a comedy series about the practice of counselling/psychotherapy. Chris Langham plays the part of the counsellor and Paul Whitehouse plays the parts (several) of clients. It’s a wonderful (yet realistic) parody of the client-therapist relationship. I really want to have a copy of this series.
I’ve been keeping an eye open for it myself and, [...]

Marriage counselling: How long should it take before improvement is noticeable?

My wife and I have 4 kids, we’ve been married for almost 15 years. We have been in marriage counselling since April. Things have not gotten any better and in some ways have gotten worse. I’m a very patient person and I fully expect that this will take some time. I [...]

In patient or out?
My husband has cheated in the past and is having an ongoing extra marital relationship now although he acts as she’s no big deal in his life. I wish he would come clean like Tiger did so I could at least have some sort of answers.
